Photographic Studies in Hypnosis 1930's

Silent hypnosis film done in the late 1930s or early 1940s based upon the Life magazine given to the subject, probably filmed at the University of Oregon in Eugene.

This film consists of a pretty female subject, framed by a medium shot, responding to hypnosis and post-hypnotic suggestion. Some of the parts seemed faked, such as the subject nodding yes to the question "Are you sound asleep?", but the legitimacy is hard to tell. What is a bit odd about this film is the use of title cards for the hypnotists suggestions. Somehow, I'd see the sequence of counting one to five and then "Wake up!" could be re purposed nicely.
